After being diagnosed in October 2013, I had chemotherapy followed by a mastectomy in March 2014. I then had radiotherapy and then started to take Tamoxifen. I was reluctant to have reconstruction, but after attending two of Restores Show and Tell sessions I finally had mine in January 2018. I had a delayed Diep Flap right breast reconstruction. Following this, I was so happy with what my surgeon had done for me that I couldn’t wait to join Restore as a volunteer model.
I was even happier when I was asked to become a Trustee. This gives me the opportunity to help other women with their decision making as they go through their reconstruction journeys. I am so glad that I had my surgery as it changed my life and gave me more confidence. I have made friends with some lovely ladies in Restore and it is an honour to be part of this amazing charity.
However you would like to get involved, we would love to hear from you.
